Next Thing I Knew I Woke Up In The..Date: Mon, Apr 7, 2014 at 4:12 PM

Nah. we were just jumped by a turkey. it was very frightening, but we handled everything appropriately... we screamed, held each other, and my companion grabbed a large stick and hit the turkey. Handled like professionals, and then the next day, we did a service project and were almost jumped on by a sheep. I mean... I supposed that we were asking for it... butttttt.. hehehe and then my companion played with the pig and the chickens as I stood a safe distance away from those....nasty chickens. if y'all don't remember. I almost hate chickens. Really. don't. like. them. To eat sure, but to touch? NO. hahaha and soooooo it was a beautiful week!!! seriously soooo great!! :)
My companion and I are biffles, so that makes this whole experience the best. :) I love it because I learn so much from her and supposedly she learns from me, idk what she is learning, ha ha,  but she tells me that I'm great. but yeah she is the best. We laugh sooo much. It's so great! Laugh therapy. and we both have a deep love for bread...so we'll get fat together! :D  This week, we bought carioca, like foam guns and shot each other like at random moments. ha ha it was so funny.  I told her to wake me up in a fun way one morning and what did I get.... she comes and sat on my bed and was like awww  hey its time to get up , like all sweet, and I was like awww thanks, and then she left
and came back running and started smacking me with a caña.- a stalk of corn. lololol it was so funny, hahaha and then another day, she was like hey hermana, time to get up, and I was like aw thanks and then I was ATTACKED. ANNIHILATED BY A FOAM GUN. hahahahaha omg so funny.  Oh, one day she was like "y'all betta git yo butt outta dat bed!!" and started shooting the ceiling. hahahha ok no, that one didn't really happened but that is one of our jokes. Hahaha man, so many funny things that I wish I could tell you!  Oh my gosh I'm such a great English teacher that the other day someone asked my companion, who is from Mexico?...and if she spoke Spanish. LOLOLOL.   And lastly, we have had this same song stuck in our heads for a week. it's an efy song but it's super creepy, haha it's like "I'm watching you". good times.
Haha, one day we were accompanied by the mission leader or idk what its called in English, but the líder misional, and we were in a store and I was like "oh, do you guys want a lollipop?" and hes like nah, pero quieren un golpe? ( nah, but do you guys want a hit or like asking us basically if we want a punch) and we were like wut. noooooooo!! hahahahahaha and come to find out, Golpe is the name of the candy bar that he was talking about,  that was a super funny moment. lol, and then a little girl was like I need help with my homework, and we're like ok!! and she's like it's for catechism, and she's like question one... what is baptism? haha and we were like, ohhhh we can help with this!!! hahaha it was so great :O

Ugh, haha we were walking and came across this guy who is super evangelical, and he was just smashing us, I mean none of the things he was saying were true at all, but he just went off, and oh my gosh, guys you don't even know. God was like HOLDING ME BACK!!! My gears were grinding, but obvi I didn't want to contend or anything, so I just did the only reasonable thing I knew how to do, I screamed and pointed, and while he turned around we ran. Nah i didn't do that, but seriously. I just DID NOT feel the spirit in that moment.  When we shook his hand and left, i accidentally squeezed his hand really hard. whoops -_- ha ha and then after that we were rejected soo many times. It was so funny.  We were just so surprised at how rude some people can be. lol,  like people would close the door in our face while we were in mid sentence, stuff like that, lol. We were like hey! We're missionaries of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints and this guy was like "no no no no no, no me gusta, no me gusta" ( I don't like it) and my companion was like... gasp!? No le gusta aprender sobre Jesucristo?   ( gasp... you don't like to learn about Jesus Christ?!) and he was like uhhhh..... hahahahaha. I suppose we might have crossed the line with that one, but it was after we were rejected by everyone, we were like -_-  ah ha then we said a prayer and felt happy again :)

Well, this week has also been a week full of BEAUTIFUL THINGS!!!! One day, we were walking to find an investigator and outta nowhere we were just like HEY! to this guy who was walking by and then we invited him to be baptized (after teaching him a little duuhh) and he was like absolutely!! if this is Jesus Christs church, yes!! and we invited him to conference and he was soo excited.  Then we went to his house the next day, but he wasn't there... but his mom was there and she was like YES!!! and she was like, reserve seats for me at conference ! I want to come! and then.... the guy, his name is Bryan, HE CAME!!! he said it was so good!! I'm sooo excited! he loved it :)    Earlier that day, my compis asked me how I was doing and I of course was great, but I had just gotten word that my investigators got baptized!!! yaye!! that's awesome, but of course, like every single transfer, or emergency transfer, they got baptised days after I left. so i haven't been able to see my investigators get baptized yet. It has happened every single time that someone is going to get baptized.  Sooo duh I mean I was  little bummed, but overall so happy for them, and my compis was like, aw don't worry hermana, we're going to see Bryan get baptized this cambio, and I know it!! I'm stoked.  KNOW  that I am going to be able to see one of the people that I teach get baptized :) like Edwin got baptized last week, but he wasn't my investigator, he was my companions, equal, it was amazing. I know its all a test from God though :)
I know Bryan and his family are going to get baptized, they are so good :) and we found so many other people who are soooo ready for the gospel and have accepted to get baptized. Unfortunately , in my sector, I can only work with indigenous people, so we have had to pass the referrals to the other missionaries who work in the Spanish ward.     Equally, I'm so happy. I'm just happy to see these people, my friends, progress and want to know more about Jesus Christ and totally change their lives :) life's great :)  I love all these trials of faith because although they are hard, i have truly seen myself change so much.
I don't remember if it was this week or last week, but i had a really cool personal experience and was able to open up my heart and mind sooo much more and I truly feel my personal conversion growing SO much more everyday :) It's beautiful. I am able to appreciate things soooo much more:) like ESPECIALLY the Gospel. I am able to understand it in ways that I hadn't been able to before. :)  I LOVE IT!!! I seriously wish that everyone could feel this awesomeness :)
So, this probably hasn't been the best email in the world, but I'm sooo tired. and dying, so tired, and out of time; and I didn't write down much of what happened this week. We've been working rull hard dis week :) love it!!! and I can't think right now haha, sooo sorry, but I just want to thank y'all for the love and support that you send me. :) It makes me happy. I love hearing from my family and friends. I feel a lot better because now I'm not like dependent on what my emails say. I'm happy to be here and focusing on the work :)
The Church is true and I have no doubts about that. Serious. Conference was amazing and guys we have a prophet helping us know what God wants us to d. iz da bess. :)
Love Life!!!
Con amor,
Ñaña Tangedal
Me and my comp switched name tags and totes forgot haha and we moved tree trunks. It was tiring, but wonderful :)
My comp is so great at English that she can make grammar jokes now, I'm so proud of her!! hahaha  love you so many.
oops we switched this day too. haha but that was an accident.
send me some love

And then we saw the hash slinging slasher.....Date: Mon, Mar 24, 2014 at 3:56 PM

Nah I'm just kidding, but it's funny to see people walk around with machetes all the time. hahaha just needed a SPONGE BOB reference. can I get an amen!!??  ;)

All I can say is that,om OMG. the Lord KNOWS why He does EVERYTHING. And He HEARS our prayers!!! :) Seriously this week has been amazing full of miracles.
Monday, we had to rush home before day was over to help out with the relief society activity, and it was so much fun!!! hahahah there was no pioneer costumes just Renascence (misspelled I know) dresses, but we rented them anyways and mine was too small and I was like hulk busting out of that dress but omg it was so much fun. Hahaha we did a little drama and made fruit sculptures. then, we had a bomb noche de hogar with a member family :)
Well this week, we have been teaching family Torres Gonzales and they still have a baptismal date for the 29th. we are thinking that we are going to move it to next Saturday though, because they still need a few more things, but we are soooo happy for them.
Thursday, we had a capacitación de 9 hours. OMG. it was so long.... some sad things happened in the mission with some disobedient elders and 9 of them went home. It was sad, but hey, The Lord has given us commandments. not suggestions. :) and while that happened, something happened in Venezuela, and they had to take out 240 foreign missionaries from Venezuela and send them to the other missions here in the south American continent, so we received 7 new missionaries!!! that is awesome and it was cool because they are all such wonderful missionaries who are super aware of our responsibility como miembros de la church of Jesus Christ :)  and so that was a really uplifting conference that we had :)
Friday, we had our reunión de distrito, and we had a farewell for elder Lema, who is completing his mini mission. He is an elder who has some kind of slight social disorder, but he is the SWEEEEEEEETEST person you' ll ever meet. omg. it was such a pleasure having him in our district!!!  it was awesome, we bore our testimonies and also thanked him for being him, because really, he was such a great example to us all. :) it was such a wonderful meeting and the Spirit was so strong. :)
Saturday, Hermana Cajas y yo had a service project and invited all the missionaries in the zone to  help us. Yeah it was getting hard bringing cinder blocks to the third story of the house... just us two. hahaha so we all worked together and moved all the blocks and pikes of sand and gravel. The family was so thankful for our service. It was a family menos activo and they were just soooo surprised. suh I'm still sore, but it was sooo worth it, seeing the happiness on their faces :)
Sunday..... Sunday.... transfers!!! we received our new assignments Sunday, but before that, we went to church and it was great. I was feeling so great, but at the same time just kind of different, like... IDK I  knew that I was going to leave. Lol on the way to church , we saw one of our investigators coming up the hill and she was like go go!! I'm coming, and we were like what?=!?!?! she's coming all on her own!! and then she goes, yeah I'm going to that evangelical church over there... and then our hearts broke... ha ha and then we went down the hill..all sad, but then out of nowhere, we see a girl that we met on Thursday and she was like hey!!! I'm going to your church next Sunday!!! my friend wants to go and we both really want to learn more!!! and then oh man we were totally on a super high!! :D that was awesome. After church, we went to our mamita for lunch, our favorite family, Fam  Guajan Panama. It was so much fun, we took funny pictures and shared a really great message. and... we were all crying. The spirit was so strong and all the testimonies that were borne were so beautiful. :) I can't hold in my tears, I am a baby I know, and Hna Guajan told us that she prayed to know who was leaving, and she felt.. Hna Tangdal is leaving... and... ah I already felt that too. and.... after many tears, but tears of happiness... we received our assignments.
duh...
duh...
DUHHHHHH
Hna Cajas is staying in Carabuela and she is TRAINING!!! ah!! :D and Hna Tangedal is leaving. going to Otavalo and opening sector in Centenario 1 with Hna Irepan.  AHHHHHHHH!!!! I screamed. sooooooooo excited. hahahhah 1) HNA IREPAN!!! she is sooooo awesome I am soooooo happy!!!! she is from Mexico and we were friends before being comps, so we are really excited.  :)   and 2) opening sector ...again. hahahaha that makes 3 out of 4, but I guess the Lord trusts me. ... and... again... I leave right before my investigators get baptized.... hahaha but I'm just so happy that I get to be a part f this work and help my brothers and sisters hear about the Gospel.-
So today is Monday. we came to the terminal and said bye to my zone :((((( they're only like 15 minutes away, but seriously I was so close to all of them. I know that we are all going to see each other in the spirit world though and I know that they are going to continue to be the best missionaries that they can be :) so proud of them :)  and now, I am here in Otavalo with my beautiful new companion!!! I am going to miss Sister Cajas, but I know that we will all be reunited too soon and it will be the happiest experience ever! :D     Oh and our house was occupied by elders and its so nasty. We have to clean tonight. Elders, don't be so nasty. Clean the house. hahahaha

But, this week has been absolutely full of miracles. Full. Of. Miracles. Our toilet has been fixed, I killed another big nasty spider in my house before it killed us, I got up before the alarm clock sounded....etc..... lololol   but really, we have seen so much progress in the ward and our investigators. It was a hard week because we heard a lot of sad stuff about people not wanting to go to the church because it's a small community and everyone knows everything about everyone and they're like no you let THOSE people into your church!!??   Yeah it was sad, but I KNOW that we really were able to help the ward. I am so happy with the work that I was able to do there.  :) We were able to bring back some inactive members and gain the confidence of the members. It was a beautiful time being able to share my testimony and love with all my brothers and sisters there. I don't have my agenda to be more specific, but just know that this week has been sooooo beautiful.
And now, well I know that the Lord has a purpose for everything. God knows why I'm with my current companion, and I do too. I'm so excited to be able to help in any way , shape, and form here . :) I love life and I am sooooo grateful to have a God who loves me and has given me His son Jesus Christ as a Savior. Life is beautiful when we just open our eyes! :) Open your eyes. See the Good in the world. there is opposition in all things, but there is a God and He loves you. Just pray to Him Ask Him if He´s there, and I bet you my everything that He will give you and answer. I know that because I always ´pray for His help, and I ALWAYS see His hand in my life. I am so happy. :) The Church is true. I promise. Invite someone to Church this week :) Open your mouth and share the truth!!! :D share the love! because it's for every single one of God´s children. I'm so excited for conference!!!! :D

And Pappy!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! :DDDD I love you all!!! have a beautiful week!!!! Ill be praying for you!!
love,
Hna Tangedal

lolol zona Iimbabura!! hahaha next week, zona Otavalo Norte or Sur IDK. hahaha

WEEK OF MILAGROS! ( Mon, Mar 17, 2014 at 10:37 AM)

Seriously. Such a beautiful week :)
Well, to start off, Monday we had a family home evening with a member's family, familia Cachiguango, who brought 3 friends and they were all so interested in the gospel!!! The Spirit was sooo strong and open, one of the girls was just crying, She was so happy to hear of this message :) another one, we actually found out that he was baptized when he was 8!!! WUT!! ha ha, that  was an amazing night. We taught about the restoration and it was just so awesome. :)
 I love my mission.
Tuesday, we were walking to an appointment, but there was this house that had MY FAVORITE ROMANIAN HOUSE MUSIC playing on full blast, and I was completely distracted and was like I HAVE TO FIND OUT WHO IS LISTENING TO THIS MUSIC, so we contacted the house, not even caring that there was a big dog sitting at the door, and that's where we found GINA!!! OMG. She is 20 years old and amazing,. but it was sooooooo hard to talk to her while the music was playing because I was all calm on the outside, but on the inside I was dancing like a maniac, worse than at Marcy´s wedding. Ellen knows.  She has such good questions and is so excited about the Gospel too!! :D She seriously is asking all these questions and we're like.... omg this is amazing. we are so happy!!! she wasn't able to attend church yesterday because she was at a wedding, but this week we gone be all up on her!! ha ha

Wednesday... wellll Wednesday we were walking along the side of the freeway like everyone does here all calm and what not till I tripped on a rock. I played calm and all but it hurt..then I was like that's weird, my foot's all wet and i didn't even step in a puddle... so I looked at my foot and my big toe exploded, hahaha whoops. good thing we were on our way to a members house.  We arrived and I was just dance walking to somehow not scare the people of the trail of blood that I was leaving on the side of the freeway (Ha ha I don't know how dance running wouldn't attract attention...but I was losing blood. I wasn't thinking clearly ha ha) we got it all cleaned up and everybody was happy and comfortable :)

Thursday was AMAZING AGAIN. We found an investigator from last weeks English classes and we taught the restoration with him, honestly. this week has been FULLLL of miracles, he wants to follow Christ and be just like him, and he knows that though he can't be perfect here,  he wants to be the closest he can be and so he's like." I want to get closer to Christ and be like him and i need your help!" :) and dang the spirit was sooo strong in that lesson!! so happy :) then from there, we saw Gina and talked to her, and we all coo!!:) we have another appointment with her this week! :) Oh then we got home and as I was opening the door, I saw something crawl under the door. and.... I freaked out and was like omg what was that... i got it and looked for what that was... yeah. it was A FAT TARANTULA. . there are tarantulas, in my, house.  What's new. I LOVE MY MISSION, but today we had to fumigate, we had to, we can't risk this anymore hahhahahhah.

OMGGG Friday, so we had a cita (appointment) fall through and we tried contacting, but it just wasn't working for some reason,. and so I looked through my contacts list and decided hey lets call this lady, familia Torres Gonzales,- that we met while helping familia Quinchiguango with Englsh1- so we did and the signal didn't go through very well and it was all staticky.  Then, we contacted a bit and called again, and they were like COME OVER! and so we did and omg, I was like dying because where they live is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. its amazing because their house is so humble, just a box with pieces of wood to sit on and as a table, etc but the scenery was absolutely gorgeous! I was almost cryng it was that pretty, but pictures couldn't capture the beauty  :(   and they are a miracle family for us, they want to know all about Jesus Christ and have been prayng and CAME TO CHURCH AND STAYED ALL THREE HOURS!!! and they are sooo happy!!! OMG. if I had more time to write. but we taught them many wonderous things and then they offered us coffee and we were like....oooo.... and so impromptu taught the WOW too :)

Saturday, we had a service project in the morning. It was so funny! Never trust "aquisito nomas" (just right over here). it literally means, "just have to hike the mountain and cut through the jungle to get to the house, so that is what we did. We went "allisito nomas" and had literally hiked this fatty mountain, and literally cut trough the junlge to get to this field where we picked peas. OMG. haha we all got there sooooo tired and sweaty!! hahaha
Then, we were able to see familia Torres Gonzales again. We taught the gospel of Jesus christ and the children are so alert and want to know more and we invited them to be baptized on friday, and they were all so happy and excited!! :D and sooooo we are so happy :)  That day, we were hearing a lot of things from contacts and less active members about the members of the church in their community being judgmental, etc. you know how it is when .. idk, it was just sad. like.... some of the people haven't yet realized that this church is not a special club, this is Christ's church and He wants everybody in it and EVERYBODY has their own problems and weaknesses, so that night we started a fast to try to help the ward and some other beautiful things. :) we stepped outside, and contacted the dad of an investigator that we have. She is a referecence from the Cachiguango family and wants to come to church,  but she needs the permission from ther dad, and we found the dad, but of course, he was drunk and .... drunk people are more sincere. he was talking all about the church and what he wants and all these things and we tried to help him the best we could, but we had to go. Not much was being done, he was tying in like chairs to guatemalan rabbits, like nothing made sense, and then.... hahahha this makes me laugh. We found a member family walking. and it was sad for me because we had heard a lot of sad/bad things about them that day, and IT WASN'T ME!!! the Spirit like.... really reproved and then edified them. hahaha and we left and i just started laughing and was like... i don't know what that was... and she was like... yeah I got so scared. I was like "oh man hna Tangedal is going to go off on them!!!" hahhaa but no!  it wasn't me, because I don't even know how I came up with the things that I said.  Well, it was good.

And then Sunday.  Sunday, just a week of miracles. dauny, we had the Torres family and they don't speak kichwa. They came to church and we were just praying that the meesages were going to be in spanish, and what... THEY WERE!!?? And one of them was ....exactly what we were fasting for,. ha ha it was so awesome :) then we went to our classes and the spirit was just so strong and man,  the kids loved church, made new friends, and someone gave them a mini hymn book as a gift! :D they are so happy and still have a baptismal date!!! man. fasting and praying and consecrating yourself to the work brings miracles!! :)

Guys, the Gospel is true!!! so happy. remember faith with doubt DOES NOT EXIST. have faith:) miracles will come :D

Me and my comp were walking to church.- its so pretty!! omg.- Haha a man was walking by, was like sisters!! you going to church!!?   us, yeah we are! and he offered to take one of my bags of dirty clothes, so he took it, and then he left and disappeared. and we were both like wow what a sweet man. who is he? and I was like.... oh no I thought you knew him .. and she's like I thought you knew him... hahaha and then we were like... well he might have just stolen my dirty clothes. hahahahahaha but nah we found the bag at the church!!!

us and the torrres family
oh yeah  we got mammitas now and they literaly feed us 4 servings of food. like a MOUNTAIN of rice. I'm getting fat. hahahaha oh well. when in Ecuador :) they're so generous.
and a member made me a unicorn hat just like I asked for. muahaha.

Love You All!!
