Deep cleaned the house today and found enough hair to make a wig (November 21th, 2014)

Oops!! Well I finally killed all the viruses that were on my flash drive. Seriously it was like the Ebola on my flash drive!!

Well this week, we haven't had the greatest miracles, but we are seeing lots of progress with the branch. I have been studying like crazy! A crazy woman!!!

A funny story.   I have been looking for good pizza this whole mission. This week I was like I'm going to Papa Johns but its pricey. I'll wait. I started a fast later that day and then I saw some friends from another sector visiting and we freaked out so happy. Then they gave me Papa Johns pizza but I was fasting. About 20 minutes before I wasn't. hahaha, so I gave it to my comp and cried a little. #fatkidproblems.    hahahahahhahaha I know God loves me.

Cool story. Finally. there is a member that we brought back to activity, but hasn't been reading the BOM because of her work, she is too tired. We have been doing all that we can to get her interested, but nothing. Then one night we get a text from her husband saying that his wife got interested on the topic of the millennium, so we dove in, then next day we taught about it with the gospel principles book and she was so excited. She promised us that she was going to read it on her own because she loved the book.    We are soooo happy.   I know God is helping us on this journey.

                               Studying like crazy.

We have had some random questions and situations this week, but it doesn't matter. I know that the BOM is true and if its true this is the church of Jesus Christ. Nothing else matters.  I'm happy for the testimony that I have and that I know God is hearing and helping me :) Life is beautiful! Sorry this isn't much, but next week I'll have better stories :) This week I had to exterminate all the viruses from my life, and I'm almost healthy!! ha ha ya ye!! )

Love Life!!

Love you guys! :)

They gave me a birthday bread! ha ha (long story).

25 red roses and a white one for $1.50  When you know how to negotiate with Colombians.  Nah I'm Joking. I have no idea how to, but they like me hahahahaha. Roses are so cheap here! we go around giving them away! :)

This weather is more bipolar than a dolphin in a fur coat riding a unicycle. (November 10th, 2014)

Hey everyone! :) I hope you're all having a wonderful day! Today I woke up all normal, BUT once I started studying, then I was so full of the Spirit and so happy. I know that this is the Church of Jesus Christ. THIS is His church, man. There are so many people who are like no no no, but NO. This IS. I think we all just need to soften our hearts a little more and look at the big picture. Not ask other people, pray about it :) the blessings that come from knowing are so grand! Its like a comfort, a peace. Everything is great. Although, in this moment, I'm a little frustrated because a virus attacked all my 5 flash drives of picture from the mission and I payed this guy to take the virus off just to be sure, but now there's more viruses and I can't even see the pictures. I think they're all lost. :( But its OK. We all have to look up, and I know that God has taken more pictures than I have. :) I just have that... consuelo. hah

This week was full of reunions!! Two surprise reunions with president! They were great. Very inspiring. I came out of those reunions totally edified. We must not fear. Fear no one! :)

Update on Alexandra: she's doing wonderfully. We gave her a tour of the church and she is really happy to get baptized. She just wants to be taught more. ya ye! ha ha that's great because we have lots to teach! She's really preparing herself for the 22 of Nov. :) I know everything will turn out the way the Lord wants it to if we do our part. :) Unfortunately, she moved this week also.... to the other side of the street!! so shes still ours! ha ha actually, now she's the elders', but they said keep teaching her.

Well, cool story of the week...

Wednesday, we went with a  less active family. we had planned to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but suddenly, the mom was like "I want to have a testimony so I can also say that I KNOW this is the Church of Jesus Christ! How do I do it?" And then we were like... hmm...  Hna chim read the invitation from Moroni in the introduction and then she was like "OK cool." And we were like "how about we read a little with you guys today!?" and they were happy with the idea. We asked what they wanted to learn about and the dad said faith. So, we read Alma 32 with the family. The Spirit was so strong. We got about half way through and asked the mom, Monica, how she felt. She told us that she thought that was her answer. She said she felt like the chapter was talking directly to her and that she felt so nice. We invited them to read the rest of the chapter and then pray about it. They cheerfully accepted the challenge! :)  It was so cool. The Spirit was seriously so strong and it just felt sooooo nice and peaceful. I love it!!  That was truly a miracle because Monica's heart was a lot harder a couple of weeks ago when we first started meeting with them. I know that the Lord is guiding us and that when we are diligent and obedient that He blesses us with these kinds of experiences. :)

Its truly a beautiful life. Not when you live stuck in the world, but rather when you live in the world, but you're not of the world, like Jesus said. I love life. Its hard sometimes, but I know these trials are opportunities for us to exercise the attributes of Christ that we're all trying to acquire :)  One day we'll all come to the knowledge that Jesus is the Messiah. I never thought I was going to be one of those crazy Jesus people, but now that I have seen and FELT the HUGE change in my life, I can't not be one. I know that He is the Savior of our souls! :D I know that Satan is soooo very astute, but I know that if we don't let go of the iron rod, (the word of God), we'll stay on the path and avoid all the unnecessary wandering around and falling around.

I love you all! Thank you for all the love and support. I really mean it! :) I really appreciate it! My only plead is.... be good. no, be just. Be just people. :)

the church is true! I promise!!

love,

Hermana Leah Tangedal

PS. I still haven't found a good pizza here. also, this is day three of having no water. yesterday we had no electricity either. fun fun fun.

Health! :D (November 3, 2014)

Well, this week we had limited time to proselyte due to all these activities that we had. Bummer. So when we reflected on this week, we set a goal to have a super duper awesome week... I hope it turns out great... he he.

Alexandra went to the coast this week to visit her recently operated mother. She wanted to go to church over there, but we didn't know at what time they meet and we didn't get to look it up, so we don't think she went, bummer!! but that's OK! She still feels that the church is true! :)

Well, I only have time to give my testimony, but we had the opportunity to answer some awesome questions from an investigator about the Book of Mormon. It was great and so easy...why? Because I KNOW that it's true. I asked God again and I just feel so at peace. I have never remember scriptures very well, but now when people ask us all these random questions, so many scriptures come to mind and help these people. Like, really help these people. It is awesome. I know that its the Spirit. :) The Spirit is true.

Oh and rull quick.-  We were walking one night and saw a family and we were like, lets contact them! But we walked past them, because they just didn't seem like interested.... and we took a different route. Then I just felt like, hey lets say a prayer. So we stopped in this dark dirt road and said a prayer to find the people who needed us. We started walking again and got back onto a real road, but who did we find coincidentally?? That same family! And we talked to them and they were surprisingly receptive!  I KNOW that the Lord is guiding us to the people who are prepared to hear this message, we just have to put our effort. put in our... hoz. idk what that is in English..   D & C 4 haha :=
Love you guys.  And guess what? I'm not sick anymore!!

Love
Hermanaaaaaa Tangedal!

We bought a rotten cake -_- (October 27th, 2014)

I have no time!! but this week has been full of miracles!! :D
Miracle 1)  Alexandra and Johnathan, our new investigators are progressing so well. This week, we taught about the Restoration and Alexandra is so happy. She told us that she feels something DISTINCT and SPECIAL when she learns the lessons and comes to church!!!! She prayed about the Church and she feels like she received an answer. Jonathan accidentally ran her toe over with his wheelchair a couple of weeks ago and it has been like broken and horrible, but when she prayed about the church, she swears that someone pulled her toe and popped it and now it doesn't hurt for beans!!! hahahaha I told her that God was the best chiropractor that I know, ha ha ha but she also has felt the Spirit telling her that it is true! Ahhhh! She said that she is getting ready for her baptism this 15 of November!!! woot woot!!! We are sooooo stoked! I know that we met them when they only had 10 days in this city for a purpose!! :D  They now feel very welcome at the church and  feel like they have friends!! wooohooo!! :D

Miracle 2)  We planned this random day, but had faith that it would all work out. We went to go find this golden family who wants to hear about the church, but upon arrival, we found out that they went to Colombia for the weekend- lol, so we went with the neighbor who is a member,~ a little old lady with a testimony solid as gold~. She bore her testimony and it was amazing. I was inspired. Then we went with a less active member and got there right when she got there. We taught her about the plan of salvation and she started to cry and said thank you, that that was awesome and she felt a lot better. I thought "man we came just in time!!".  Then Sunday, she bore her testimony in the Relief Society and said that she wasn't planning on coming to church this Sunday because she was so discouraged, but two angels came to her door and gave her hope.... whoa... she was talking about us. That was soooo beautiful! :D  I know that God is guiding us!!

Miracle 3) This one's a little hard, but the sister of our recent covert, Fabricio, is going through this super tough time because they are denouncing her uncles because they ... abused her when she was little and all this is suddenly coming to light, but she ...is having a super tough time. We didn't know anything, just that this was happening and assumed, it must be tough. We called them in the night  time, like, way late just to see how the mom was doing because we haven't talked to her in a long time, and  she told us that they were in the hospital becaurse earlier that day, her daughter tried to commit suicide. whoa..... but we followed the Spirit and called right in time to give them cheer to go on, and now we're working more closely with them.

I know that the Lord is guiding us and I know that this is the Church if Jesus Christ!! I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I love you all and I know that Prayer is a miracle!!! :D

Have a great week!!

Fwd: I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel!! :D I see it! (October 20th, 2014)

Hey y'all!! y'all--- lol.    Ha ha  well, good news and bad news! I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico! and my cold is... dun dun dun dun... 7 days later. a...little better.

Yesterday was the worst food poisoning experience... actually worst experience of  my life. So. now I have food poisoning and a cold. ya ye! Ha ha.  Well it all started when I went to branch council. I was dun. Finished. Terminated. So the Elders gave me a blessing and I can't imagine what I would have experienced without that blessing. We went home because I couldn't do it. I laid down and had the gnarliest headache. Then I had a 102.3 degree fever. My companion, Hna Chim, was soooo great. She was helping me out with a cold rag on my forehead. Oh last night we were supposed to have transfers, but we didn't have them! :)    and then at like maybe 1 or 2 in the morning, my fever went away....but I had to go to the bathroom, and destroyed that room. I would go into more details, but I don't want to scar any of you, as I KNOW it would. I'm still scarred mentally. I was just thinking about it and almost started crying, like "please no no no". Ha ha ha   I think it was this soup we ate at a members house....and fish.  I'm telling everyone that I can't eat sea food anymore. Sorry pappy. Maybe, maybe, maybe at home, but not in Ecuador. Every time has been a very scary experience for my body.

      The Culprit

Note: While writing this email we just had a very big earthquake! uh oh.

We also went to Quito this week! Hna Chim had to get her last wisdom tooth taken out. It was fun. I read the whole Book of Mormon on the bus ride!!! And by Book of Mormon, I mean the book that comes after 4 Nephi. ;)  but I did finish the whole Book of Mormon that day :)
Done in two months as a missionary. (Its hard to do...I can't imagine how sister Rachel Marion did it in a week) I read while they took out Hna Chim´s tooth and at night when we stayed with the nurse. It was amazing. I know its true and I don't care what people may say about the book of Mormon. I have read it and done what the prophet Moroni says, ask God in the name of Jesus Christ if its true and you'll get an answer. I have gotten many answers every time that I have done it. I know it was written by prophets that God called in the Americas and that it only testifies of Jesus Christ. If you want to know the truth, do it for yourself and stop asking the Internet and other people because you're just going to keep confusing yourself.

I know God answers prayers. Here's another cool experience that I had. So Hna Velasquez, my last companion, finished her mission today. I was sad because I didn't get to say bye and I said a little prayer that somehow I would see her again before she left. We went to the offices and I saw that President was having interviews with all the missionaries that were finishing... wut....  well we left and did a few things and came back and who did I see!??!?!  Hermana Velasquez!!!!! A few tears were shed. ahaha   Aw man it was so cool!! everything was perfectly planned by our perfect and merciful Father in heaven. :) So cool!

Other miracle. Betty, an inactive member of 40 years that we met at the beginning of this transfer, has been reading the Book of Mormon and she prayed about it and feels good. This is big news because before, she was studying with the Jehovah witnesses and didn't want to hear anything about the BOM. Man. I'm sooooo happy. She looks different. She is happier now. I love this work. I love the Gospel.

Monday night, we visited our recent converts, Familia Lara, They are awesome. :) shy but awesome. They have been reading and praying and feel great. After that, our plans fell through, so we started contacting at 7:30 at night. Its not too effective, so we were bummed and went to go see if our favorite "street arepas" (google arepas) delicious..   were cooking. They weren't. Nooo! So we just started walking to go to betty´s house, while walking we started talking to this lady who was pushing her son in a wheelchair. Three months ago, they were in a bus accident going back to there home on the coast and the boy, Johnathan 10 years old, was stuck under the bus and they had to amputate his right leg. He´s so strong. After that, the family just like turned on them. I don't know why!!??   They were like blaming that mom and everything and she, Aleksandra, and Johnathan left and came to Ibarra looking for good physical therapy. Well we found them 10 days after they came and we invited them to church. They came to family home evening that we have every Wednesday and they loved it. They also came to church on Sunday, and I gave a killer talk about missionary work. :)   They loved it. They received blessings and were so happy. They invited us to come visit them tonight. I'm so excited, they are certainly a miracle. :) yayayayaeee

Tuesaday we had divisions and Hna Powley and I went to this place called The Acacias. So many beautiful trees. It's this random Jame Austeny place in the middle of nowhere. ha ha :) Surprise!.

Well, sorry I'm still a little/ really sick and am struggling writing this, but I am glad to hear from you guys and thank you so much for the support and the love, I really need it sometimes! (right now because I'm sicker than I was haha).    You guys are awesome.

Well, the Book of Mormon is true, and that means that the church that Jesus Christ established is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love it.!!!

Love you all and have a great week! keep the commandments!!

Con mucho amor,

And that's whatcha get for not eating your vegetables Hna Tangedal (October 13, 2014)

Happy Monday! Man. So this week, I have had the gnarliest cold. I still feel like my head is all cloudy. I can't hear very well, nor taste anything (bummer), nor smell anything or think super well, ha ha. It all started when I hit a year. I'm just getting tired I guess, hahaha no, but soon I will be much better! :) Well, this week we had a fun time. We had 2 baptisms! ya ye! it was marvelous.  :) The Spirit was so strong.  Aaron was one of them. He is the son of Javier, who was recently baptized after being excommunicated, and his wife recently came back to the church. This family is so cool. They are so strong in the gospel. Aaron basically taught US all the lessons. He knew everything, and he always prayed and told us how he felt and took the decision to be baptized. He is 9 years old.   The other baptism was Pamela. She is the girlfriend of a member who is a little crazy ha, but we're working with him now :)  She is 14 and super smart too. It has been a huge blessing to meet and teach these people. All of the sudden, the day before her baptism, her mom was not going to sign the ficha (the paper thing) and we were like.. oh no.... OK, we'll talk to your husband..pray about it... etc.   The next day I had divisions and I went to another sector, which was crazy in and of itself. ha ha, we visited a lady in the morning with a member and her kids. Everything was cool, we left to lunch, got to the bus stop and the sister with the lunch canceled, so we walked to the house expecting to eat there when all of the sudden, we see the member and the lady we taught at the corner. A dog that lives with, but does not belong to the lady we taught, bit the son of the member... and they were all freaking out.. ( it was a bad bite) and so we arrived just in time to calm them down and get the keys out of the house. Long story... but it was cool how it all fell exactly into place! :)  Then he went to the hospital and got the rabies vaccine! ya ye!! :D

Well, when I returned to my zone, Pamela´s parents signed her paper :9 ya ye! permission! And then, she got baptized. Her parents came and they felt super happy there. Now, tonight we have an appointment to teach them and we're super excited! :D

Conference is still amazing. We are still seeing a lot of miracles, and have a couple more baptisms coming up! :) ya ye! This sector is really progressing a lot! because I have been sick, I've been up and down, but that phrase from Gordon B Hinckley, I think, keeps coming to mind. Work, work, work, diligence, and obedience. :) ya ye!

Well I love you all. I know that the Lord hears prayers. I have had some amazing experiences this week. One night I was freezing. I prayed to be warm and when I said amen, I was totally warm!! not the first time I have done this! :D ya ye! and other things. Well, I hope that you all have a fun week and be good,  keep the commandments and send me love and motivations to go on (just because I'm sick and don't want to move). hahaha  I love the work and I feel a great peace when I do this work. :)

Love you!!

"no panga sus pies en la mesa" lolololol panga. (October 6th, 2014)

Ummm... lets talk about conference!?   YES! it was sooooo amazing. Soooo, like, I have my scriptures and everything, and was planning on sharing a really deep message... but the Lord has other plans for my time :) This will be simple. )  but, Conference. I know that President T. S. Monson is a prophet. I know that the Lord answers my prayers. I have experience this beauty so many times and especially this week. The only thing that I prayed for when entering this conference was to gain a greater testimony of the Prophet and Joseph Smith.... did I get it? YES! It was soooo amazing to hear allll the speakers testify of the prophet and Joseph Smith. Beautiful! The spirit was so strong in the gringo room.... or that's what we call it. hahaha, where the gringos watch conference in English. Many tears were shed and many many many many pages of inspired notes were written. If you didn't get to hear conference, I urge you to look it up on LDS.org. You wont regret it!!! Next week I will have more time to talk about it I think :)

Well.... Aaron, who is preparing for his baptism told us yesterday that he is so excited to get baptized. I just hope everything goes according to plan :) Pamela is also super happy. It was amazing because this week, her mom and dad wanted to hear us and had so many questions. Totally going to work with them. We also had the opportunity to talk to many new people and find prepared people.... during our fast to find prepared people . Amazing!!! the work is MOVING ALONG BEAUTIFULLY here in Ibarra.

Last night, we contacted this family walking past us and just jumped on it. They are the cutest family I have ever met. They are Colombian refugees and have the sweetest accents. hahaha, but they are sooo stoked to hear that message, and one of the craziest parts is that... like talking to them and looking into their eyes (sounds funny)   like I totally felt like I knew them. Like it was weird, but like. idk!!!! I know that we had to be friends in the premortal life. They're exited to learn more and even get baptized one day. Life is beautiful. It really is.

Well. sorry this wasn't the best message ever, but I want to bear my testimony...and I'll do it in Spanish.

I love you all and I hope you have a beautiful week. Take care of yourselves!!!

hey yalllll (September 29, 2014)

Oh my goodness. Im tired. Today we played soccer as a zone again, but the sun here is so strong. I'm burned, again, ha ha its OK!!   Well this week, I ate a clam ceviche. It was delicious, but I got sick. So sick, and the next day when I was the WORST, I had to go to Quito to renew my visa. hahaha ya ye so I had 10 hours on the bus to and from the city, and I was the gnarliest nauseous ever. I almost threw up on the bus like 3 times, but I was praying so hard to NOT be that girl who throws up on the bus. I made it safely and there was no throw up on the bus. I know. Just ONE of the miracles I saw this week.  Needless to say, I'm traumatized by seafood... and buses now. But it was cool. while renewing my visa, I met 2 Venezuelan girls who were super cool. They have been living in Quito for the last year because Venezuela is doing super bad now... it was sad to hear it... but I know that there is a plan in everything :) The missionaries that came from the Venezuela missions to our mission were telling us that the work was accelerating greatly because the people have been humbled greatly. I know that The Lord is protecting them.

In other news, Marcia, Fabricio's (our recent convert) mom, is so stoked to get baptized. She wants to do it now!!  We put it for the 11 of OCT because of general conference and everything, but she is so happy. She told her daughter, Monica,  about her decision and told her that she was not going to pressure her to follow her, rather invite her, and her daughter was like thanks :) I'll think about it!   well, that night, Monica had a dream that she was in her backyard and all of the sudden this little 3 year old boy came out of nowhere and was like "hey do you want to learn more about God?" and she was like "Yes :)" and the little boy was like " OK hold on I'll be right back" and he came back and gave her a book of Mormon and said "here, this will help you learn more about God! :D"   and she woke up like amazed. They told us the next day and she is so excited to learn. She even told us that her husband wants to learn more and get baptized!!! what the heck!!!   And this last month, the family has been going through some rough, rough times. So the two sisters were sexually abused by their uncles yearsssss ago and they just came out and told the family. Monica told us that she has been praying lately and reading the Book of Mormon and she feels so happy. She feels like she has taken off a backpack. Like, relieved. She feels like she is worth something. That like made me tear up. Man. Its amazing. The Lord is TOTALLY preparing this family so much, They have CHANGED. and I know that it is thanks to the Atonement of Jesus Christ. :) I'm so happy. I just hope that I have more time here to help this family get all on track and help them strengthen their testimonies! :) oh and Fabricio is filling out his mission papers, he has to wait a year, but the branches here take like a year to fill them out. he's sooo stoked!!!

Annnnddd last night. So, there is this family that just came back to church and we're teaching their son, Aaron, who wants to get baptized the 11th de OCT :) ya ye! well they're only there in the night. Its relatively safe where they live, but idk because I'm new. ha ha, sooo there is this house with a woman always in the window.... creepily whistling at us every time that we pass by. Last night, we taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ and about the Holy Ghost and how cool it is and always protecting us. Well, we got out of the lesson, we're walking home and I see that house, and the woman wasn't there, but I was like "Hna Chim that house always has a woman in the window and she always greets us, but it's creepy..." and then as I'm looking in the window, she pops outta nowhere, and it was like whoa, and then I just started feeling like super scared. I didn't know why, because I had only felt like that a few times.. so I was like.. thinking happy thoughts.. and I said" the Holy Ghost is so cool" and then, Hna Chim's like.... " I'm scared and I don't know why!!!" and I was like, me too!! Then I grabbed her and we just started running out of that place. Then we both had like the same thoughts and we're like... what just happened?? Like I wasn't scared because she popped out of nowhere, but it was something weird. I know that it was a warning from the Holy Spirit. It was super cool to have another amazing experience of how the Spirit protects us. We don't know what would have happened if we didn't listen, but maybe it could have been like the last time i didn't listen. They robbed us. Hah, or it could have been something different. Either way, I know that the Holy Ghost is amazing and He's always guiding us in our paths. I'm so grateful for the Lord and His Gospel. I know that I'm doing something right because I have had the opportunity to see so many miracles in my life and on this mission. The Lord is truly protecting us. We just have to live according to His commandments. They are what keeps us in line :)

Its truly been a marvelous week. We didn't have the best numbers, but I know that we are teaching people and not lessons :) Women's conference was amazing and I think everyone should go to LDS.org and watch it, at least President Uctdorf's talk :)  Your heavenly parents love you :)

I love you all and am continually praying for you. Make good choices and keep the commandments :) Listen to the Spirit.

Love

New people, awkward PDA, new house, and so much happiness (September 15th, 2014)

This week has been marvelous! as you know I'm in a new zone. Its so cool!!! Well, to start off, we had 3 baptisms this Saturday. A young family, familia Lara, and a 17 year old guy, Fabricio. They are solid. SOLID. so great :), and we also got to attend the baptism of a brother who was excommunicated, but returned to the church! My comp has been working hard over here! :D The testimonies that these people shared with us were... beautiful. I cried, she cried, we all cried. We also had an investigator family, familia Troya, from the coast, come to the baptism. They're really excited to learn. I love them. I love the people from the coast, ha ha they're soooo funny! We are teaching Fabricio´s mom and she is sooooo exited for her baptism on the 27th! She is soooo great! Like dang, it's like she's been a member forever!!! Ahhh I love missionary work! Ha ha and yesterday we contacted a little bit on the way to an appointment and met a lady who was super rude to us and then we showed her like 435689375 percent love and she totally changed, and was like, you can come back whenever. Ha ha super awesome! Also, last night, we found a guy who got baptized about a year ago, but was offended by some of the youth from the branch and didn't want to go back, but we got him just in time. He's experiencing many problems in the family and has committed himself to come to church this Sunday! Yaye! I know that he is going to come and change his family!. Who just got out of jail. We're going to try to teach them to help them just be happier :)
We have a new house! It's so pretty! Something  I have not seen in the mission, ahahaha,  I'm so happy and my allergies are letting me breathe!! Yaye!  It rained today and it was so pretty. This week I had the most awkward lesson of my life, most awkward moment of my life better said, teaching this couple. So much pda that normal people wouldn't do. Footsies. And then they were all over MY foot in the footsies. So uncomfortable. (details left out to not mentally scar anyone) but the atonement, thank God, :D   even helps with mental scars. I'm OK now, ahahaha.

Well guys. I love life. I'm so happy to be in this new branch and district. I hope this week is super great! But tomorrow, I think we are going to Quito to get my companions wisdom tooth taken out. She might have to rest a lot this week, but that's OK. We are going to continue to see miracles! I know it! Feliz dia de Independencia de Mexico y Guatemala!! ha ha  I hope that you all have a great week and pray!!! remember that God loves you and just talk to Him. Ask Him for the help that you need and He will give it to you! :D

love you all!!!

I LOVE LIFE!! (September 8th,2014)

This week was beautiful! Today I received transfers. I have been reassigned to a new sector. wut. wut does that mean? ha ha 6 months in my last sector. I wasn't seeing this in the future. lol,   but now I'm in Ibarra. It's more north, more Colombians, more sun, more Spanish, and MORE WORK TO DO!! Yey!!! I'm so happy, I have a new companion who is Hna Chim. She is from Guatemala and she's super cool. I will miss my last compis, but I know that the Lord has greater plans for us! :D  Everything is sunshine and ....wind. lots of dust and wind. ha ha. Well in my mission I have gone from super dusty house, to clean house with no dust, to dusty dusty house with fleas and mosquitoes, to semi dusty house with fleas, to cockroaches, to dun dun dun dunnnnnnn, moldy house with mice and cockroaches.... MOVIN´ON UP!!! lololol, but I love life :)    There's a rumor that we're getting a new house in 3 weeks. That'll be great :) hahah

This weekend we had 2 baptisms planned, but one fell through. It was tough, but everything is going accordingly to the plan that God has for us :) I'm so happy! :) this week, in our new sector, we have 3 baptisms and we are stoked!!! These people are amazing and ready to make covenants with the Lord!!! I love this Gospel and I am so grateful for a Heavenly Father who loves us enough to challenge us and try us. It's hard, but I know that we can all do it, and I know that HE knows that we can do it!:)  Let us all press on!! :D

Oh my gosh. guys. I'm in a city now, or something like that, but I have been freaking out because there is a mall here... 2 of them. wut is that!? and.... well idk... but if you were here.. you would be freaking out too. hahhaha, I love life and love the mission. I'm so grateful for the responsibilities that The Lord has given me and I seek to magnify this calling.

I have found much comfort, strength, and help in the scriptures and I invite you all to do the same :)  the Book of Mormon is the word of God and I know it to be true! :D

I LOVE YOU ALL!! have a great week!!! :D

Earthquakes and fried intestines yummy.... (August 25th, 2014)

Well this week has been a great one :) We had two baptisms of two of our old investigators who came back and are so happy now! :) Yaye!!  They're stoked!

We had emergency transfers Monday and my favorite Colombian accent left, ha ha, he went to Quito, but we have a cool new elder from Guayaquil, elder Suarez. A great new addition to the ward :) Well I don't have much time, but just some things that I have learned and want to share....    The Church is true. I'm finishing the New testament this week. yaye. and reading it while reading the book of Mormon has been one of the coolest things in the world! I just want to say how grateful I am for a loving heavenly father who has given us so many blessings and continues to give us so many blessings. We just have to exercise our faith in Him. Its a beautiful life and many people don't realize it, because we get so distracted by the world, but when you realize your purpose here on earth, your mind opens up so much :9 and your happiness increases!! :)
I hope you all have a great week and you  ponder these things :9

I love you!!

Live your mission with no regrets! contact everyone. (August 18th, 2014)

Dear family and friends,
I would like to announce to you that hot water on the mission is a privilege and I don't think i'll ever have it. Hahahahhah, nah.  This week has been awesome. I was a little bummed because our numbers have been a little low, and we haven't found new people to teach, well referrals yes!!, but for us, no. :( but I was a little consoled ...mmm at peace?..  that we have been helping a lot service-wise this week, and that is one reason the numbers are a little low. One of our less actives passed away this week. I didn't know him very well at all, but his wife is a faithful member of the church and a DIME. It was sad, but he was drunk on the street and choked on his food. Don't drink! He was a great guy though :)   so we have been helping the family this week. They are doing a lot better :)
This Martes, (Tuesday), wow my Spanglish is on point. Tuesday, the president challenged us to read the book of Mormon in 2 cambios (transfers), 3 months. EASY!! And every time that it talks about Christ, highlight it in red and diligence in blue. It has been sooo amazing for me. I wake up at 6 and read for a half hour almost every morning to get ahead. Its so fun!! I love how one can always find something new in the scriptures that is perfectly for him/her. Its helped me a lot this week. :)
Friday, our investigators got married!! yey!!! And if everything goes well, they are getting baptized this Saturday! They are a young couple. Dayana and Yuyarik. Dayana is awesome. I'm so surprised. Originally, we were teaching the mom, but Dayana was a referral from her mom and she is the one getting baptized before everyone! yaye!! She's super excited! :)

Life is great! even though sometimes life is like hiking mount Everest with a fat backpack, it's awesome and we learn a lot!! :D Sacrifices teach us so much and refine us!!:D Thank you all for all your love and support. Please, send me things to make me laugh. ha ha, I mean I laugh all the time, but sometimes one just needs that extra laugh, you know what I'm saying? no no anyone? ha ha.

Well I promise you that this is the Church of Jesus Christ. I feel like my mind is opening up when I read the book of Mormon and when I hear the prophet. I have felt the Spirit so strongly in my life testify that these things are true. I know that they are and I know that the world is against Christ, so when we are bothered by the world for believing these things, I know they're true!!! aha it's like an extra testimony :) Life is beautiful!!!! I hope you all have a great week and read the book of Mormon!!! :D its the best! :D

Love you all!!!

"...Estas cosas solo pasan al Chavo y hermana Tangedal" (August 11th,2014)

Ya ye!! thank you for all your prayers and faith! The baby was found Tuesday! He was kidnapped and then the kidnapper got scared or something when they saw the whole city covered in flayers and left him in a hole by the river, unharmed, same diaper and everything. It was a super hyper miracle because IF (he wasn't though) he passed those two nights there alone, without food, on the 2 coldest nights of my whole 5 months here, I honestly don't think he would have made it. Also, he was saved from falling in the river by a blackberry bush. He's all scratched up, but he's safe and sound reunited with the Morales family! :) Miracles. I'm glad this happened because it put my faith to the test and I saw that I needed this test. Also, the faith of the family has grown ten fold!!!  :D And their son, Edwin, went to the temple this week. wut wut! and he loved it! ahhh.
What else happened this week? well.... it was a good week in some ways and a hard week in others.... for example: me auto disparé!! jajaja I accidentally threw a bit of pepper spray in my own face... and my companion and I have a matching, fun little stomach infection. We had a baptism fall Saturday. Everything was planned and happy, but all of the sudden the phone rang and I joked that it was Janet saying she's sick, going to the hospital and can't get baptized. What happened? She was sick, went to the hospital and couldn't get baptized. ha ha, but I know that everything happens for a reason. We were a little bummed, but shortly after, found ourselves with some of our friends from a ward that we both served in in Quito. That was awesome :)

I've learned that The Lord is freaking awesome. all these crazy things happened to us (many things unmentioned jaja) but they're all for our bienestar (well being) and to help us be polished and beautiful. To help us realize the commandment that Jesus gave us to be perfect. Sorry that I didn't get to write all of you today, but I have kept you all in my prayers. Life is great and I know that all these tests and trials are for our good and help us. I encourage all of US to just keep swimming and take all the things that come our way with a spirit of faith, diligence and patience, love, etc. We can all do it, and God knows that we can do it. He will never give us anything that we cannot support just like the scriptures say. He is merciful and has restored His church on the earth. What a beautiful blessing we have. :) I love it all. I love you all and open your mouths and share the Gospel.!!! the Church is true. I promise!!
Con amor,
Hna Tangedal

This is my sunday and today (August 4th, 2014) /A week of test and trials

Our recent converts son was kidnapped. We don't know. He went missing yesterday at around 4:00 p.m. Ecuador time. We searched all the river and didn't find him. They live by a river.

Pray for the Morales Maldonado family, please.

A week of tests and trials (August 4th, 2014)

Alma 31:31,33
Matthew 21:22
Alma 26:26-28,30-32

In all honesty, I´m super tired. Physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.  As I sent that e-mail out earlier, our recent convert´s son went missing yesterday. We don't know if he was kidnapped or what, but we've been running around like maniacs looking for him, working with the police, FBI, radio, fliers, etc. praying of course :)   but man. I don't know. I believe that I have a lot of faith, but then when these kind of things happen... you're like.. whoa... and you see that these things are to increase your faith. It's all so ironic because this Thursday, while doing exercises, I was listening to an EFY song that says"give me mountains to climb" and I was like.. hum yeah! And then I was like no, no, no, no. But all this week. I was thinking about how much I want to be a better leader, so I had made the goal to read the New testament in 2.5 weeks. (to study Jesus' words really closely) It's going well. I'm half way through and I still have a week  and a half :)   But yeah, it's been cool, and I have been learning so much too. I love the Book of Mormon and the Bible. They are so cool!  And to top it all off, Thursday in our district meeting, my comp and I gave a capacitacion (training) I don't know what it is in English, whatever. We taught part of the class,  on having faith and being of good cheer even when things go hard, and we threw in the example of Job. oooof.  Well since then, it's been tests after trial, but this is good, we deserve this. I want to be a better leader and I have been asking from Him to help me have even more faith. All these things that happen are things that are going to help us grow and progress spiritually. Oh man, and today meanwhile waiting for sister leaders in the terminal, we were passing out fliers and man they came so late. ha ha, but it was all part of God's plan because out of nowhere this scared 11 year old girl all sad and crying came to us , US out of all the sooooo many people there, and told us that she was lost and needed help. So, we got a hold of her step mom and took care of her while we waited for her step mom to come and pick her up. From 50 MILES AWAY. Um what?    I'm certainly happy though, that we have been instruments in the Lords hands, helping people :)

Many things have happened this week, but this is the event that sticks out most to me. I just want to say that guys. Faith. Fe, in Spanish, is such a small word, but so powerful. We have to have faith. Everything is going to be OK. Faith in what you say? Faith in Christ and in the plan that our Heavenly Father has for us. I know that it's perfect and I know that it's hard to have faith sometimes, but we can do it! That's what He wants us to do anyways. :) Prayer and scripture study are what is going to help us. :)

I love life and I know that this is Christ's church. I know it. I have no doubts and I'm honored to be able to take part in all the tests and trials of faith that come with being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. :)

I love you all and I hope that you have a great week! Pray for the Morales Maldonado family! Please. Thank you. The baby's name is Martin.

Love you all,
Hermana Tangedal

Talk to everything that moves and remind them that God loves them! (July 21st, 2014)

Hey y'all!!!! Man I love life. This week has been the roller coaster of all roller coasters. As you now, I have been companions with one of my best friends for 4 months. Well, Tuesday night, they informed us that we were going to have emergency transfers. Yeah, I know. It was devastating, but we're good :D  She's only like 15 minutes away, hahahha and now we can't write cards in the mission or anything like that so it's a bummer, but it's cool. I'm happy too. This is good :) More opportunities to learn :)  I truly have realized that I have learned a loooooooooot being with Hna Irepan!! I'm soooo happy :) like I'm impressed. :)
My new comp is from Santa Cruz, Bolivia. She has 14 months in the mission and is finishing ya mismo (right now), ha because time flies soooo fast. Well, my grammar is impeorando (worsening), but my Spanglish is kicking!  She's pretty cool. She's Hna Velasquez. :) I'm excited to get to know her more, and ready to learn more  :) I know that everything has a purpose!! Stoked!!!
Well, this week has been cool though :) we have met with Janet and Malki who are preparing to get baptized the 9th of August and they are so excited. They are 14 and 10 years old. ya ye!!!  We are so excited for them!!! :D We have been finishing a lot of people who just needed to have their questions answered. It's been super dope :D hahaha, like one guy on the street. We just wanted to know where a good place to eat was and he was like that place! And we were like, cool! Hey we're missionaries, and then he was like," hey I want a book of Mormon!!" I want to learn and we invited him to be baptized, and he was like yeah!! If this is true, for sure!! Super sweet right!? He's pretty cool too!! He's a referral from the hermanas de latino, because he doesn't speak kichwa, but it's all good. We have been given some killer referrals :D
Guys. Like, before I thought that I had a strong testimony, but now I realllllly, really don't know what I would do without this knowledge of the Church. Like some people think blah blhahlha blah blah its just a church, but NO. There is more to life than what you think!!! Ahhh. just give it a chance! It will change your life.  I love the gospel with all my heart and it hurts me to think that not everyone will make it to the celestial kingdom. There is a difference between just people and good people. Good people are good people. They don't do anything bad, but just people are the ones who keep all the commandments and they are the ones who are going to be very blessed. PLEASE BE JUST!!!! I want to see all my friends and family in the celestial kingdom with heavenly father. I love you all and I want you all to know that the Book of Mormon is true. It really has opened my eyes. I know that this is the Church of Jesus Christ and I have no doubts.

Well, I hope that you all have a great week and that you meditate over these things I have shared :)   Meditate over your life. Think about who you are, what you want, and how you're going to get to be that person that you want to be and how you're going to get to where you want to be.... because YOU CAN DO IT!!! :)
Oh gosh, and I forgot. Last night I got soooooo sick! So, if you don't know I hate feathers, and there was a feather in my chicken. I brushed it off like a champ, but I couldn't do anything about the major fever and everything else that I had yesterday, woops, but today I feel better. I haven't really eaten all this week because like a pathetic-pants I was all sad, and now I'm sick. Soooo, I think this cambio (transfer) I will be losing weight.   whuddup. Hahahaha

Love you all!!
