BROKE AS A JOKE AND TIRED AS A POPE. (May 26th,2014) AND THERE WE WERE WITH NOTHING BUT 2 CENTS AND A BUTTON (May 19th, 2014)

Oh man. well this week has been straight up cray. Long story short, we did a service project and helped them out a handful...and how do they repay us? with CALDO 31!!!! What is it you ask? it's a blood soup and full of whatever organ you can find in the cow. ajksfsklgjkgjkgghghkjgdj   We tried everything to get the bad taste out of our mouths!!! Candy, ice cream, water, milk, banana, everything, rice, NOTHING. WORKED!!! ha ha ha but its the thought that counts... right? It was sweet of her to think of us :) ugh. It was like tripe and other poop. there was so much fat that our mouths felt like we just ate a ton of lard. mayonnaise by the spoonful. bleh.  ha ha.

Oh man elder Waddell, one of the area 70, came and my head almost exploded. So many good things!!! And I came out of that reunion completely edified!!

One of our investigator got possessed and her sister frantically called us in the middle of the night and scared the turds out of us!!! We had to schedule a .... visit with the bishop and his counselors.... but if you want to hear the story, well its cray, but I'll tell you later :)

Familia Morales Maldonado is getting baptized and we're soooo happy for them!!! People are coming out of the cuts. It's been a great week. kind of rough with a lot of things, but I know that the Lord is guiding us and keeping us up on our feet and protecting us. Sorry, there is no time to write today due to some technical difficulties, but everything is great :) I am just so so so thankful for the plan of salvation and the knowledge that we have that there is another life after this one and that this Gospel is true! I am soooo happy :) It's the best thing ever and the biggest comfort in the world :)

Oh man, so many things that wasn't able to tell you, but next week!! ha ha funny stories!

The Gospel is true and I have NO DOUBTS OF THAT!! I love life and I love everyday that I get to live and share this Gospel with these people in Ecuador and I know that I will continue to do it when I get back home. Every member a missionary and especially more when you are converted unto the Lord and the truth :)

And we found many FAMILIES this week!!!! soooo crazy how, but all next week... maybe. if I have time.. he he sorry!

Well I love you all and I hope that you all have a great week

Don't forget that the plan of salvation is real! :)

Love you!

And there we were with nothing but 2 cents and a button.

(May 19, 2014)

Well I must say that I am quite tired!! Ha ha, we had a zone activity today and we played dodge ball with toilet paper wrapped in tape. It was wayyyy fun!! Then we played all these games and I'm poooped!!
Well Monday, we started the week off great!!! :) We haven't taken out the trash in a long time and we just kind of leave it outside... he he woops. Hey pues NUNCA pasamos en la casa!! (we're NEVER home!!! ) Maybe we're a little desperate to get rid of it...and so Monday we were coming home to pick up our scriptures and go to a family home evening appointment and then we heard the little jingle that is the trash truck. That's right..... you know that song that the ice cream truck has... well yeah it's not the ice cream truck... it's the trash truck. Ha ha ha, and so we heard the song and ran inside and grabbed ALLLLLL the trash...that's been rained on a million times ... sprinted down the street like 3 blocks to catch up with the truck and guess what.... the non organic trash is actually for Tuesday.... and they didn't take it. I was soooooo dun. Ha ha I was like.... wut? l really.... ha ha ugh. But it was sooooo funny. We have found some new investigators from the experience. People come up to us all the time and are like "hey you're the girls who were running with alllll that trash right!?" And then we're like yesh..... -_-...., hahahahaha oh, and to make things worse.... this one family saw us and were like 90 percent sure that the husband just thinks we're so dumb (he's mean) ha, and who do we meet there at the corner with a million bags of trash, soaked in tears?! Hermano Esponja. (name has been changed to protect his identity) Hahaha, ohhhh and earlier that day it was so hot and my comp and I decided to have a water balloon fight.... but something happened with the BIG water ballon that we had. It fell.... didn't pop...then rolled over to this hole in the wall....and...sort of....fell into the neighbor´s house on the floor below us..... WHOOPS!!! We couldn't stop laughing...
Tuesday...well we went to an appointment in 4 Equinas, the super countryside, and as we're walking through this corn maze thing, all of the sudden some lady pops out of the corn and is like "BUENAS TARDES!!" and scared the EVERYTHING out of me!!!! Ha ha ha and then she's like hey... yeah uh I am looking for my two year old baby and I need your help... and mind we were like right next to a REALLLLLY steep hill that leads into a river.... and so we're like. WUT!!?? Yeah! And then we're looking all around, up and down, for this baby and then the lady just leaves.... and we didn't know where she went, if she found the child, if she left the stove on, nothing. so we're like uh let's find her, and then we found her and she's like, oh  yeah I found her. She was in the house. -..... -_- lady. thank you for telling us 20 minutes later, as we're scaling up the side of a mountain trying not to fall in a river. IN SKIRTS AND FLATS. Ha ha ha good times, but it was a relief that the baby was cool :)
Wednesday... well,  we found this awesome sushi place. I know I know, but Leah, you don't even like seafood, mais no!! I like sushi! The owner is this sweet little lady from china who's a sushi master and her sushi´s so cheap and trust-able... and so we got sushi, and we loved it. We also ordered like the fattest plate of fried and breaded shrimp. Ha ha ha it was so good. We have been so bored of chicken, meat, rice, and corn, and nasty melloco! Ha ha, so that was awesome and the little Asian lady´s name is He Xin, and she was like... who is Jesus Christ!? And were like.... OMG! We have a friend who speaks Chinese here in Otavalo and we are going to bring her to come and teach her :) It's going to be soooo awesome :) aw she was so cute ha ha she was like taking pictures with us for her face book page ha ha!!
Thursday, we found a family on our list of people unrecognized ( I don't know how to translate it), and turns out, she is family of the familia Morales Maldonado who is getting baptized on the 31st!!! wooo!! And she was baptized when she was 9 but then stopped going to church because her parents heard rumors about random things and now she's 30 and needs the gospel in her life :) At first she was like no no, but then when we left, she was like "OK I'm going to read and pray!!!" Aaaall excited! That was a successful lesson I would say. The Spirit was there all the way! :) And her two sons want to get baptized, but they have to talk to their dad first :) We are going to do our best to find and teach him! Oh, and it was soooo funny because we are like asking around for the Morales Otavalo family, trying to find them, and allllll the neighbors are like oh yeah that's the family that just got out of jail for selling marijuana. They were busted a few years ago.
And we are like... oh nooo.... and so we were all scared... but when we found them, she was like yeah I love crafts and knitting and sewing and I'm making my own shirts and painting and she was soooooo sweet! Ha ha ha and turns out... it's not her. It's the neighbor. Ha ha ha ha woooooh. That was a clooooose one!!! :D Then, they ortiga-ed us. They hit us with ortiga!! Ha ha we asked for it though. We wanted to experience it. Ortiga.... is... I don't know what it is in the States.. or in English, but if you touch it, it feels like a bee sting. Ha ha when in Ecuador, right!? Wrong. It hurts. but it's all about the experience. Ha ha ha.

Well, this week has truly been a beautiful one :) Full of tears (happiness, stress, all of the above), smiles, "I love you´s", trying to remember someone's name and just call them Maria and it turns out it's their name sometimes even when they're a man, dead dogs on the street, you know the usual :) but most importantly, people progressing in the gospel!!! :)  We found Pacari Sandoval, a 19 year old mom of two chlidren who is stoked to get baptized :) She already came to church and had a tour and had like 3 lessons in one week and is loving the feeling she has when she reads the BOM :) awww man. It was awesome because we met that family a long time ago, but whenever we went, they never wanted to pay attention, sooo we were like "peace!" and then one day we came back and found the daughter and she sooooo wants to know more :) It makes me soooo happy! :) I know that she's going to be a huge example for her family!!! And last Sunday on mothers day, we had a cita (appointment) fall through and passed by that house and we're like.... mmmmm...OK... so we went in and found the mom in tears because the family is just having all these problems and she was all alone on mothers day with her hung over son in law and her kids ADDICTED to face book. So, she was like "thank you so much for coming. I was just thinking that you guys haven't come to visit in a while! :("   well.... to be honest they always were blowing us off.... but  we arrived just in time to give her a hug and make her feel a little better. So even though we weren't with our moms on mothers day, we were able to give a hug to a mom who REALLY needed it :) That was pretty cool-. Oh and Pacari is getting baptized the 7th of June :) ya ye!!!! We are so happy! Everything is working out so well! :) We leave investigators and find new people to teach that are so ready for the Gospel :)

Ha ha, and yesterday, they had 10 minutes left in sacrament meetting and we are like... and we are going to have a minuto misional (a missionary minute), by Hna Tangedal. ( and I was like... uh wut.. Ha ha surprise talk!!! It was cool though :) I just shared about how awesome it is sharing the Gospel and how I wish I would have shared this with all my friends before I came on the mission, but now I KNOW that I am going to share it with everyone :) because everyone needs it!!! It's that feeling that everyone is looking for!! :D

The Gospel is sooo cool. I know that it's truly the plan of a loving Heavenly Father. People can say that we´re foolish to believe in something that we can't see, but I know that not believing in God is foolish. Everything. EVERYTHING. Makes so much sense when you learn more about the Gospel :) and we can definitely feel Him. :) And I know that it is the best feeling ever! :) It's like a sense of happiness and comfort that you can't describe. ah :) I am soooo happy that I have this knowledge and testimony and is a growing conversion everyday :) The Church is true. I know that it is the only Church that has the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. :) Life is amazing. I hope that this finds you all well... makes some kind of sense... and at least makes you almost smile or something :)
I love life and I hope you guys do too!!! :D

Love Love Love,

My comp and i before we fell down the hill and rolled in the mud 6000 times.

Just hanging out at the bus stop..where they always have a dead pig hanging from a rope...selling the ...."very clean"..meat that they smacked with a fly swatter...
