So to start off, we had cambios (transfers) last night... and Hna Irepan and I were freaking out since Thursday. Man This is awesome, like the best thing ever to be companions with one of your best friends, but then its going to suuuuccckkkkkk when you have transfers, and so, we were like joking around pretending to bribe the zone leaders to put in a good word for us and stuff like that ha ha, and we were praying and praying that we didn't have cambios... but we've already been together for 3 months... but guess what!! WE DIDN'T HAVE TRANSFERS! ha ha the DL called last night and was like... hermanas... I don't know how you did it, but you don't have cambios. Wooo!!! so much happiness last night!!!... after we locked ourselves out of the house until like 10 pm in the cold windy night. Ha ha walking sooooooooooo much to find that the keys were at a neighbors (bishop) house, but everything was solucionado (solved). :)
Well, this week, Edwin Morales got baptized!! it was quite stressful. He and his dad called us and told us that they were going to be a little late to the baptism because they were working construction on a house about 40 minutes away and we were like... well OK... and invited our investigators but they were worried they weren't going to make it, blah blah... Edwin didn't come to his 6 o'clock baptism until 8 O'CLOCK!! hah we were so stressed out! but His job wouldn't let him out early if they didn't finish the house. well, because he came so late, our investigators were able to come and Edwin was able to get baptized!!! He was so happy!!! :D aww man. it was amazing. We are so proud of him and in his blessing (confirmation) it said that he was going to be a missionary!!!! i totally see it!!! :S we're so happy for him!
Some other cool things....
One of our inactive members who always blows us off and is semi rude to us....actually came down to listen to our message this week. She had so many great questions and we were able to clear up her doubts. That was so awesome.
This Sunday, we wore anacos (the traditional dress of the otavaleñas) it was awesome, but we walked soooooooooo much, and ran and everything..... that mine fell off ha ha but not completely. I saved it! Its just like a cloth and a belt holding it on. that was super fun :)
There was a cow and a turkey, and my comp wanted to contact the guy standing next to them and she goes, "hey what's your turkey's name?!" and he's like "turkey!" and this turkey had been making a lot of noise and apparently annoyed the cow/bull and all of the sudden the bull jumps and stomps right next to the turkey and the turkey made no more noise after that. hahahaha but we got super scared and screamed and ran away. ahahaha it was scary!!!!
One night, we started praying for the people who are looking for us to find us and we experienced a day of rejection and we were like... well lets just look for this member who is supposed to live over here and we go and ask all over and come to a house at 8:30 pm and ask and the girl's like... no you have the wrong house and we were like... oh bummer.. well we're missionaries and we teach about Jesus Christ and she was like "cool!!! and she was like yeah I want to hear more! when can you come!? yes yes I want to get baptized!" and we asked why she was so excited and she was like, " when I opened the door and saw you guys, I felt something super special, like super super nice in my heart. " and we were just like <:O :D soooo happy. and so we are going to visit her this week! Se llama Nelly :)
Oh man.. so there's a brother in the ward and he's super cool. about a month ago, he told us that he was going to the hospital to take some tests because he's been having a headache for a long time. Well the doctors discovered that he has a brain tumor and its too risky to operate. We saw Hno Caranqui, his name, yesterday and man..... he's so sick. :( his wife is so young and she was crying so hard.... :( we went over just in time though. They said they prayed for help and we arrived right after and shared about the plan of salvation with them and helped them a lot. The message was comforting :) It was sooo sad though. to see them so sad. They know that he's going to be OK, but the saddest part was that his goal was to get sealed in the temple with his family this July temple trip. Man, but I know that there is a purpose in everything. They're going to be OK. :) God is taking care of them and has a PERFECT plan for us :)
Oh and we got a new lider misional (ward mission leader) who was part of the stake presidency, and needless to say, he is super pumped. like they are calling 40 ward missionaries and all of these reallllly cool things! :D we are so excited! we have already been receiving a lot of referrals from the members and have another baptism planned for the 28th. Her name is Dayan Ghyssleine :) she's 14 and so excited! she wants to go to the temple this July and serve a mission when shes 19. dang :D
Its been a great week. full of everything, but mainly miracles, good experiences and...... not the world cup. :( can't watch it, but that's OK :) we can't leave this work to sit and watch a game! We are talking about the salvation of our brothers and sisters.
Hey y'all. well I know with all my heart that this church is true and that our purpose on the earth is great. I will never let that go. God will never give us anything that we can't handle. Always remember that :) I love you all and LOVE with all my heart this gospel.
con cariño,
